The Fluffy, Puffy, Purple Scarf

Today I was so bored. I mean nothing to do inside and nothing to do outside. First, my soccer game was canceled because it was raining. I went upstairs to read a book. It took about 30 minutes to finish, and I still have a whole day to do something. I went to watch TV, but “nothing good on.” I went back up stairs and posted My Room that is under this post. It took about an hour or so. But again it’s still morning, a whole day to do. I went into my closet “Hey my old knitting machine! (I got this from my Grandma for my birthday) I know I’ll make a scarf!” I took out some yarn, purple yarn. And got to work, we read the instructions, and got the point. I knitted and knitted until a scarf came out! Now I’m wearing it around my neck! I love it! Thank you, Grandma

My first finished project. Love my scarf and my sewing machine!

Brother Trouble....or should I say Brother Mario Trouble

I have trouble I’m talking brother Mario trouble. It all started when we got the game, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. At first, I thought it was fun. But now I don’t play it. (and I have to admit that Austin is playing it right now while I’m typing. He is playing Yoshi on Mario kart.) My brother is crazy! I mean crazy sick about Mario. He draws them as you see in these pictures and he is pretty good. Sometimes I get so mad at that boy when he’s all like......"What do you on the Bla, Bla, Bla." He wants me to play for him and I want him to figure it out on his own. Whatever, there’s no way I’m getting trapped in the Mario Madhouse. And who am I kidding, MY BROTHER IS A MARIO FREAK!!!! (a good mario character artist too!)

Hat Day - Part 2 of Crazy Socks day

Today, we had hat day... big hats and little hats, All kinds of hats! More people did hat day than sock day yesterday. It was really fun. My friend, Caroline came in with a camo hat. Sage also came in with camo. A lot of people did Christmas hat,s even though they are not in season. I chose to wear my black beret in the morning and my camping hat in the afternoon. I was pretty shocked that my camping hat from Indian Princess still fit because last time I wore it, I was in kindergarten. I loved seeing all the different hats. But I do wish I could wear a Mexican hat next time. ( if I had one!)

Crazy socks!

Today was crazy socks day. I wore a pair of socks that I got for my birthday a couple of years ago. Aunt Donna and Uncle Tom, who live in Missouri, sent them and I got them in the mail. It was crazy seeing all the socks. Sage walked in with a mix-match of rainbow and skull. Alyssa walked in with crazy socks too. Hers were super crazy! Mr. McCoy took some pictures. It was super fun! But I cant wait for tomorrow and hat day!

Recycle Everywhere!

Today our class recycled at Johnson Elementary. It’s simple. You take paper and drop it in a cardboard box, and you drop water bottles and metal can in a blue container. You dump the blue container things in a box in the hall, but guess where the paper goes!

We take the kindergarten, first grade, office, and special teachers bins outside and Mr. McCoy dump them in a huge metal box. Today My friends and I got to go down to kindergarten and pick up bins.

I got to go to my mom’s class and my friends got the others. I got the bin, and walked it out to the big bin. Mom had a lot of paper, so it was tricky. When I finally got there, I took some big breaths. Then walked back to mom’s room and set it outside her door. I got back in my seat took a big breath, and a lot of water. Recycling is hard, or maybe it’s just my mom’s bin!

Swinging, Singing in the Rainbow Rain

Tonight I was swinging in the crisp air. Back and forth legs crossed. Minding my own business. Then I forgot, “Hey, I forgot to do my favorite thing on a swing.” I tilted my head barley back, twisted the swing up, held my feet as hard as could on the ground, Tilted my head all the way… and let go. I swung and swung again and again on my favorite swing. Suddenly it started to rain I didn’t notice. Around and around, drizzling in pools, trees swaying back and forth, like I did a while ago. The mist and wind blowing on my calm face. Then the swing stopped. I rolled my head up. It took a minute to notice that the rain had stopped. It had felt like an hour, only it happened so fast. I looked at a tree, then the pool, next the garden, then the sky. Wait a minute! Is that a rainbow? I focused my eyes, yes it was. A fragile rainbow just sitting there. I went to tell mom. She took some pictures. I went back to the swings and swung again. I don’t know if you can, but I wished on the rainbow, and I hope it comes true!

Reading Fever!

For a couple of months, I’ve had reading fever. It’s like your into a great book, and you can’t stop reading. It all started when the reading counts program at school came along. Each scholastic book is worth points, you can look the points up online. You have to get 60 points first semester and 120 in total. 150 to go to a party! Right now I have 142 points and school just started! I’m going for the 3rd grade top reading award. My goal is to get 1000 points! That’s why I have reading fever, and I’m probably going to have it ALL year!

Did you hear that? Soccer is here!

Today I had a soccer game at the Shady Lake field in Bedford. The score was six to nothing! We won it with ease. The team we played was the home team, the Lasers, I think… Our shirts are green and their's were purple. I was on the field a lot of time. I played places like, defense, midfielder, and forward. It was a perfect game. I am loving the start of season five. But the hardest thing is called off sides. It means you can’t get behind the last defender. If you do go behind the defenders, the ball goes to the other team. I’ve played for 4 years. But five is the new number, I guess.
